We don't just sail - we move!

It's great that you are here and are joining us on our mission.

Change comes from decisive action and continuous commitment.
Together we turn visions into concrete progress.
What is a plan today becomes reality tomorrow.

Who are we?

We are Piroschka and Michael – not only our love for each other connects us, but also our passion for nature and adventure.

Sailing, diving, hiking, ski touring, mountaineering, climbing, or kitesurfing—there's always something going on here! Together we discover the diversity and beauty of nature and are continually fascinated by it.

Why we founded Sail for Seas

As Swiss, we grew up in the mountains and, on our high-altitude tours, experienced firsthand how climate change is transforming our environment — melting glaciers, unstable slopes, and shrinking snowfields. These experiences have deeply moved us.

It became clear to us that we no longer wanted to stand by and watch, but rather act. The ocean plays a crucial role in climate protection – it absorbs more CO₂ than all the forests on earth combined. That's why we're shifting our commitment to the sea: There, with Sail for Seas, we're committed to protecting marine habitats and combating global warming.

Piroschka is a primary school teacher who inspires children with her empathetic and warm-hearted approach. Her goal is to create a learning environment where children feel safe and seen and are encouraged to explore their curiosity and discover the world in their own way.

Michael is a forester and, with his energetic and reliable approach, ensures that everything runs smoothly. With great commitment, he not only takes care of the conservation of nature but also protects and preserves the forest as a valuable refuge for animals and humans.

The start

We've been on our journey together since 2020. Early on, we knew we wanted MORE from life than the ordinary.

Piroschka has been fascinated by the seas, and especially the underwater world, since childhood. In 2014, she worked as a divemaster on a shark conservation project in Fiji, where she learned a great deal about educational work in schools and villages, as well as environmental protection projects. Her enthusiasm was contagious and sparked Michael's interest as well.

After our first sailing trip, a completely new idea ignited in our minds, which has not let go of us since.

The way
We've earned our offshore sailing certificates and sail several times a year. This brings us closer to our goal, step by step: to sail around the world and make a positive impact. We want to create lasting change and inspire others to do the same – to protect and preserve our oceans and their inhabitants.

Our association

On 12 October 2025, we founded our non-profit association in Lucerne: Sail for Seas – Education and Conservation. We advance marine education and nature conservation through research support, teaching and hands-on projects. Aboard our sailing boat—our Floating Classroom—we teach, collaborate with local organisations, and collect and share data with research partners (e.g., on microplastics and biodiversity). Our goal is to raise awareness and deliver tangible results at sea and along the coast.

On to new shores

We are currently in the middle of setting up and planning our mission.
Sailing license, networking, assembling the right equipment – every step brings us closer to our goal. We're full of anticipation and enthusiasm. Every day is a new opportunity to grow, learn, and further realize our vision.
